This plan preserves Fairfax County's Woodburn precinct (#717)

Floyd County is on the other side of the mountains from adjacent Franklin and Patrick Counties. Floyd County belongs in the 9th district with Montgomery, Pulaski and Carroll Counties.

"The Chesapeake Bay" as Virginia residents call it, VA-01 for "the eastern part of the state", is compact and entirely within one (1) Census SMA standard metropolitan area. The "community of interest" has its own vanity DMV license plate. 90+% of its population is within 20 minutes of the population center by three connecting US Highways.

believe Culpeper, Rrange should be left out of the 7th district and more confined to the counties so it should be completely either 6th or the 7th district not slices in the counties.

This is one of the most nightmare-ish CD's for the eastern part of the state I've ever seen. It will take 6 hours and a trip into not just Maryland but Delaware to go from the western and eastern halves of the district without paying a $17 toll. Even with the CBBT, this is over 3 hours drive and crosses as I see it 5 major bridges and/or tunnel systems, and includes watermen, rural farmers, and the inner city as a 'community of interest'. Sorry, but just...no.

I appreciate how this plan at least creates a more coherent community of interest incorporating my county; right now, we're deliberately stuck on to communities farther south to drown out our voices. I might try to shift our community of interest closer to the center of the state -- I'd argue we have more in common with the areas around Richmond than with the far western counties -- but this plan remains a definite improvement over the current map, at least where my district's concerned.

Although I live in Burke now (in southern Fairfax County), I was a long time resident of Prince William County. While it makes sense for eastern Prince William and lower Fairfax to be in one congressional district, it concerns me that Prince William would have three different congressional reps.

Powhatan is more aligned with Chesterfield County. Many residents work in Chesterfield and Henrico We share the same diverse populations Although still rural in some parts Powhatan shares its economy with businesses in Chesterfield and Henrico County

Generally, this map makes a lot of sense - especially combining the eastern shore with the middle peninsula and northern neck. There is an odd bit of weird lines around haymarket that needs to be addressed.
